AD Engineering is the course for doers who want to further explore and apply engineering.
The AD Engineering is the course for doers who want to further explore and apply engineering. No boring theory or knowledge tests, but learning by making, building and experimenting: we call it design-based learning. For everyone who is looking for depth and wants to take the next step in engineering.
In the Ad Engineering, you'll learn how to apply engineering to real-world challenges. You will work on practical projects in which you gain skills in electrical engineering, mechatronics, and product design.
From prototyping to collaborating with companies, you will learn by doing. Almost half of this two-year program you will be working on internship assignments. Even in the remaining semesters, you always work on an assignment for a real client.
So no fictitious cases from school, but real work.
The AD Engineering is composed of four semesters containing 7 challenges wherein theory and practice are closely linked. You work on practical assignments, and take supporting classes in technical subjects and personal skills. This way, you learn directly how to apply knowledge in practice.
In this challenge, you work on a project to design a tool for someone with a disability. Together with your group, you will design a solution that closely involves the user, such as a tool for daily activities or a sports aid.
You work with a group on a problem posed by a company from the Brainport region. For example, consider a manufacturing challenge where you help design more efficient processes.
You will work with a partner on an assignment from a local company, exploring technical challenges and developing practical solutions, such as improving a product or system.
Individually you work at a company on a technical assignment that you carry out independently. Here you put into practice the knowledge gained in the first year, work on a real business problem and make important contacts in the sector.
You collaborate with a student from the Digital Technology Engineering Master's program. They bring in an idea, and you translate this into a tangible solution. Think, for example, of working out a prototype in line with the latest technical trends.
In pairs, you will develop an innovative solution to bring humans and machines closer together. For example, you work on a project for healthcare in which you design a system that helps physical therapists with rehabilitation support via robots.
You work as a junior professional at a company you choose. For 20 weeks you will independently tackle a complex technical problem within that company. This is your chance to set up your own project and get ready for a career in engineering.
In AD Engineering, you work according to design-based learning. This means learning by doing. From day one, you work on projects from the field. These are not fictional cases, but real assignments from companies, so that you are ready for practice.
With an AD Engineering degree, you can start working in engineering right away. Companies are looking for hands-on problem solvers who are ready for action. You can work in a variety of engineering occupations, such as:
Associate Degree admission requirements:
