The minor program Embrace TEC helps students define their drive and talents, entrepreneurial behaviour, uniqueness and how to utilise these individual assets. Regardless of study program or interests. It all starts with detoxing from traditional education and using the creative tools and thoughts that help you become the self-directed professional you're meant to be.

Diploma & language requirements

To join the Embrace TEC program, there are specific academic and language requirements you must meet. These ensure that all students have the necessary background and skills to successfully participate in the program:

1. Embrace TEC Requirements
You need a bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:

  1. Automotive
  2. Aviation
  3. Electrical Engineering
  4. Engineering
  5. Industrial Product Design
  6. Production engineer
  7. Logistics Engineering
  8. Aerospace Technology
  9. Maritime Technology
  10. Mechatronics
  11. Human and Technology
  12. Industrial Engineering
  13. Applied Mathematics
  14. Mechanical Engineering
  15. HBO-ICT
  16. Technical Informatics
  17. Technical Physics

2. English Language Requirements
A suitable English language qualification is required to ensure you can follow the program effectively. You must meet one of the following:

  1. TOEFL iBT: Minimum overall score of 90, with at least 17 in listening, 18 in reading, 20 in speaking, and 18 in writing.
  2. IELTS Academic: Minimum overall score of 6.5, with at least 5.5 in each element.

3. Exemptions
Dutch, German, and EU students with a bachelor’s degree listed in the Diploma List of the Code of Conduct may be exempted from providing an IELTS or TOEFL iBT test report. After submitting your application, Fontys University will verify your documents and inform you by email with either an enrollment letter, a conditional enrollment letter, or a dismissal letter.

Application Deadline September Intake

To join the Embrace TEC program, it’s important to submit your application on time. Below are the deadlines for the September 2025 intake, depending on your country of residence:

  1. EU students: 15 June 2025
  2. Non-EU students: 15 May 2025
  3. Dutch students: 31 August 2025

Make sure to complete your application before the relevant deadline to secure your spot.

How to apply

Applying for the Embrace TEC program is simple and managed through Studielink, an online portal where you can apply and track your registration at any time. Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Log in to Studielink
    If you don't have an account yet, you can create one easily on the website.
  2. Submit your personal details
    Make sure to use the exact names as stated on your ID or passport to avoid delays.
  3. Add 'New Enrolment Application'
    Select the Master Digital Technology Engineering program and choose the correct intake moment (e.g., September 2025).
  4. Provide your previous education details.
    Add the details of your prior degree and answer any supplementary questions.

Once your enrolment request has been submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email from Studielink. Keep an eye on your inbox for updates and further instructions!
